There are many tourist attractions in Paleochora which are very interesting to see. You can visit the temple of Aphaia on Aegina island, which in considered as one of the most well conserved and well-known ancient Greek temples. These temples were made in the 5th century BC. If you want to see impressive pottery work, you can go to Mesagros, where there will be a workshop of pottery and you can observe the local potters working there. You can also visit the beautiful monastery of Agios Nektarios, which is called as the Patron Saint of Aegina.In Paleochora; there are also some villages which are worth visiting like the village of Souvala. If you wish to visit a religious place then temple in Aegina town which is called as the temple of Apollo can be visited. The tower of Markellos where modern Greece’s first coins were made is also a place worth visiting. You can also visit some of the villages and churches over there. Palaeochora itself is a village which is situated 79 kilometers far away from Chania. This village is a capital of Selinoe province and this village is commercial and agricultural area. Being situated at the south side, the landscape is interesting.

In Palaeochora, you will find many small villages with Byzantine churches which were built in 13th century.In the village Azogouries, which is situated at the northeast of Paleaochora, you will find exotic landscapes and monuments of nature like Charakas and Zoures. Visiting the Cape Krios is worth visiting which is a marvelous attraction and it has also kept its natural beauty alive from many years. Not only has this, but the tourists who come in Paleachora in summers also enjoy some of the cultural activities which are specially organized for them. Number of accommodation facilities, including café’s, bars, restaurants, and amusement parks are offered by the village, Paleochora. Boats leave from Palaeochora to the southern coast for tour and trips. The village is habitually connected by boat with Aghia Roumeli, Chora Sfakion, Loutro, Elafonissos, Sougia and Gavdos. So, these are some of the places which are to be visited. This is a very enjoyable place. You can spend your summers here, doing many types of activities and also, camping can be also enjoyed.
